AI Content Optimization Checklist

Our public standard for human-assisted, original, and credible content — for our internal team and for every client we serve.

GroXcelent uses AI tools to assist with research, structuring, and drafting. Every piece of content we publish undergoes human editorial review, fact-checking, and enhancement. No AI-generated content is published without a named human reviewer accountable for its accuracy. We maintain a documented verification trail for all factual claims and metadata, including titles, meta descriptions, structured data, and image alt text. Our authors are real people with verifiable credentials and direct experience in their topics.

We follow Google's guidance on generative AI content, which requires manual fact-checking of all AI-generated material before publishing. We don't use AI to fabricate author profiles, generate fake credentials, or produce low-value pages at scale.

Google's Policy Direction, Summarized

Google evaluates content by usefulness, originality, and credibility — not by whether AI helped create it. Here is the guidance that shapes every item in this checklist.

01

Method doesn't determine quality

Google rewards helpful, people-first content regardless of how it was produced. Its systems focus on usefulness, originality, and credibility — and explicitly do not penalize content simply for being AI-assisted.

02

Human fact-checking is critical

"It is critical to manually factcheck and review all AI-generated content for accuracy and trustworthiness before publishing."

Google notes that generative models "don't retrieve facts, but predict a likely sequence of words based on their training data," so output "may contain inaccuracies (also known as hallucinations)." This requirement extends to metadata — titles, meta descriptions, structured data, and alt text.

03

Transparency builds trust

"Sharing information about how a piece of content was created can help give your readers more context."

Google recommends telling readers when and how AI contributed to a piece. Clear, well-placed disclosure helps both audiences and automated quality systems understand the effort behind your work.

04

Deception is penalized

Fabricating creator profiles — AI-generated headshots, made-up names, or false credentials — is a form of deception. Google treats it as "a signal of a low-quality page" and it makes content untrustworthy to both users and automated quality systems.

05

Scale without value violates spam policy

"Using generative AI tools or other similar tools to generate many pages without adding value for users may violate Google's spam policy on scaled content abuse."

The policy targets the outcome — low-value pages produced at scale — regardless of whether a human, a machine, or both created them.

06

Metadata and structured data count

AI-generated titles, meta descriptions, structured data, and image alt text appear in Search results. Google's fact-checking requirement applies to them too, and all markup must comply with its structured data guidelines.
